PHI never leaves your office

Your data stays on your machine.

Every other small-practice HIPAA tool is cloud-only — your patient data ends up in someone else's database. Ward keeps the gov tool's best feature: nothing leaves the building.

How local-first works

💾

Stored in your browser

Your answers, risks, vendors, and notes are saved in this browser's local storage — never sent to a server.

🚫

No account, no upload

There's no login and no "sync to cloud" by default. Open the app and start. Close it and your data stays put.

Reports render on-device

PDFs and exports are generated in your browser via print and file download — the PHI in them never touches our servers.

Designed for the paranoid (in a good way). A lost laptop with an encrypted disk usually isn't even a reportable breach. Ward leans into that: the safest place for patient data is the machine that already has it — not a vendor's cloud.

When you're ready for more

Local-first is the default and always free. Optional cloud sync (for multi-device and MSP multi-client) is opt-in, per-entity, and syncs control state — not patient data.

Coming in cloud mode: encrypted sync, the OCR audit binder, and publishing your HIPAA evidence into the DosanjhLabs evidence graph so Sightline can map it across 22+ frameworks. Local-only clinics stay completely off-cloud.

The trust model clinics actually want.
